A time for summer skies
For hummingbirds and butterflies
For tender words that harmonize with love
A time for climbing hills
For leaning out of windowsills
Admiring daffodils above
A time for holding hands together
A time for rainbow coloured weather
A time of make believe that we've been dreaming of
As time goes drifting by
The willow bends and so do I
But all my friends whatever skies above
I know a time for spring
A time for fall
But best of all
A time for love

When Sunny gets blue
Her eyes get gray and cloudy
Then the rain begins to fall
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter
Love is gone so what can matter?
No sweet lover man comes to call
When Sunny gets blue
She breathes a sigh of sadness
Like the wind that stirs the trees
Wind that sets the leaves to swayin', like some violins are playin'
Weird and haunting melodies
People used to love to hear her laugh, see her smile
That's how she got her name
Since that sad affair, she's lost her smile, changed her style
Somehow she's not the same
But memories will fade
And pretty dreams will rise up
Where her other dreams fell through
Hurry new love, hurry here
To kiss away each lonely tear
And hold her near when Sunny gets blue

I don't have to go to bed
I've got a small day tomorrow
Small day tomorrow
And I don't have to use my head
I've got a small day tomorrow
And I could sleep the day away
And it won't cause too much sorrow
No, not tomorrow
'Cause tonight this girl will play
She's got a small. day tomorrow
Now all of you big wheels
With all of your big deals
You're gonna need your sleep
But I'm a drop out
And I would rather cop out
Than run with all the sheep
Honey child, tonight's the night.
I've got a car I can borrow
Until tomorrow
And we can swing. 'til broad daylight
'Cause we've got a small. day tomorrow

've got you under my skin
I've got you, deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I'd tried so, not to give in
I said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist when baby I know so well
I've got you under my skin
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear
Don't you know, little fool
You never can win
Use your mentality
Wake up to reality
But each time that I do just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
'Cause I've got you under my skin

For all we know
We may never meet again
Before we go
Make this moment live again
We won't say goodbye
Until the last minute
I'll hold out my hand
And my heart will be in it
For all we know
This might only be a dream
We come and we go
Like the ripples, like the ripples in the stream
So baby, love me, love me tonight
Tomorrow was made for some
Oh, but tomorrow
But tomorrow may never, never come
For all we know
Yes, tomorrow may never, never come
For all we know

I've grown accustomed to his face,
He almost makes the day begin,
I've grown accustomed to the tune he whistle night and noon.
His smiles, his frowns,
His ups his downs are second nature ot me know
Like breathing out and breathing in.
I was so really independent and content before we met,
Surely i could always be that way again and yet
I've grown accustomed to his looks,
Accustomed to his voice,
Accustomed to his face.
I've grown accustomed to his face,
He almost makes the day begin.
I've gotten used to hear him say good morning everyday.
His joys, his woes, his highs, his lows
Are sencond nature to me know
Like breathing out, breathing in
I'm very glad he's a man and so easy to forget
Rather like a habit one can always break and yet
I've grown accustomed to the trace of something in the air
Accustomed to his face

Everything must change,
Nothing stays the same.
Everyone must change
Nothing stays the same.
The young become the old,
Mysteries do unfold.
'Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged.
There are not many things
In life you can be sure of.
Except
Rain comes from the clouds,
And sun lights up the sky,
And humming birds do fly.
Winter turns to spring.
Wounded heart will heal.
Never much too soon
Everything must change
The young become the old,
Mysteries do unfold.
'Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged.
There are not many things
In life you can be sure of.
Except
Rain comes from the clouds,
And sun lights up the sky,
And humming birds do fly.

The song a robin sings
Through years of endless springs
The murmur of a brook at eventide
That ripples through a nook where two lovers hide
That great symphonic theme
That's Stella by starlight
And not a dream
My heart and I agree
She's everything on this earth to me
That great symphonic theme
That's Stella by starlight
And not a dream
My heart and I agree
She's everything on this earth to me

I fall in love too easily
I fall in love too fast
I fall in love too terribly hard
For love to ever last
My heart should be well-schooled
'Cause I've been fooled in the past
But still I fall in love so easily
I fall in love too fast
My heart should be well-schooled
'Cause I've been fooled in the past
But still I fall in love too easily
I fall in love too fast

Life is a book that we study
Some of it's leaves bring a sigh
There it was written by my buddy
That we must part, you and I
Nights are long since you went away
And I think about you all through the day
My buddy, my buddy
Nobody quite so true
I miss your voice, touch of your hand
I long to know that you understand
My buddy, my buddy
Your buddy misses you
Your buddy misses you
I miss your voice, the touch of your hand
And I long to know that you understand
My buddy, my buddy
Your buddy misses you
My buddy

The intimacy of the duo often produces music of exquisite beauty, and reveals a level of empathy between the musicians that can border on the incomprehensible. How can two people be so in tune with each other and the music, and react so intuitively in a music that is never played the same way twice? It is also a very unforgiving setting with no margin for error or hesitancy as every note, nuance and gesture is placed under the closest scrutiny with nowhere to hide.
With scant regard for the above and any inherent pitfalls in such a venture, Fleur Stevenson and Pete Billington present a set that is utterly spellbinding.
There is a fearlessness in the performances heard here that defy comparison with other versions of their chosen repertoire as the two protagonists seek to make their own personal mark on the music.
This, it should be noted, is done with great aplomb, as we are invited to listen to the delightful conversations between Fleur and Pete in their exploration of some classic songs.
Fleur imbues each song with a poignancy that enhances the lyric, whether it be a touch of melancholy, innocence, or resignation, delivering a thoughtful, fresh interpretation of the repertoire. The music is enhanced at every turn by Pete Billington's superb arrangements and multi instrumentalism, which brings with it a splendid variety for the duo to explore whether Pete is heard on piano, guitar, double bass or even viola.
Listening to the music produced by these two wonderful musicians once again reminds us of the art of the duo, and how powerful and emotive the songs can be when handled as sensitively as they are on this album.
